Another great trip to Bempton; Me and the Mrs had a lovely visit!! And it transpired that my wife had never seen Puffins at Bempton … so the mission was gratefully accepted!!  Where to find these elusive alcids amongst 1000s of Gannets, Razorbills, Guillemots and Kittiwakes?? Cheating a bit I know, I eavesdropped one of the wardens talking to an elderly couple who had come ‘Up from down South just to visit Yorkshire’ and whilst here, they thought they’d visit visit Bempton to see the Puffins. Just down there to the left and above that grassy ledge ….. and sure enough …Puffins!! The Mrs was pleased too!!! So with  mission accomplished it was on to flight shots … Gannets not to bad …. but Guillemots and Razorbills a bit more difficult and then Puffins …. well a few hundred images later…. No, actually it wasn’t that bad once you got your eye in you could follow them quite well ….with Binoculars…… a different thing altogether with your camera … Oh the joys of photographing Wildlife!! Then after dinner we had a walk south to photograph some Fulmars … the light was brilliant but no Fulmars … plenty of Kittiwakes … I needn’t have worried as the Fulmars showed brilliantly …. What a great afternoon!!! Once again Bempton you were Brilliant!!
