Algarve trip: September 30th – 10th October
My annual Autumn trip to the Algarve once again produced some really nice birds …. with over 100 species seen in a 10 day trip. For this post I thought I’d try a slightly different format .. so rather than a daily log … I’m posting some of the birds I photographed there along with some sites I visited. All the birds were photographed on the Algarve in as natural state as possible. We had pretty decent weather whilst down there with only a couple of mornings spoilt by rain. However the rain didn’t last long before the sun was out again . Temperatures were about 60-65 F. Certainly warm enough for T-shirts and shorts, although at night on some evenings you did need a fleece .. but overall brilliant weather for October. If you want any further information on any of the sites mentioned please don’t hesitate to get in touch … and any feedback on the photos’ would be most welcome. Many thanks.
Sites Visited: Salgados Marsh, Alvor Marsh, Alvor Harbour, Sagres península, Parque Ambiental: Vilamoura, Castro Verde, Castro Marim and the lagoons near Faro airpot – part of the Ria Formosa reserve.
